INCI Name: Glycol Distearate
Product Overview: Glycol distearate is a nonionic surfactant that is non-toxic and biodegradable. Dissolved or emulsified in a surfactant blend by heating, it precipitates lens-shaped crystals on cooling and produces a pearlescent luster. In liquid cleansers it gives a distinct pearl effect, increases viscosity, and also moisturizes skin, conditions hair and resists static. Highly compatible with other surfactants, it delivers stable pearlizing and thickening without irritating skin or damaging hair. Glycol distearate gives a stronger pearl effect than glyceryl monostearate, which gives a finer one.
