INCI Name: Glycol Distearate, Glycol Stearate
Product Overview: Glycol distearate is made by esterifying plant-derived stearic acid with ethylene glycol. EGDS T is a widely used cosmetic-grade ester, especially suited as a pearlizing agent, opacifier, conditioning agent and thickener in personal care such as shampoos, liquid soaps, creams and lotions. Dissolved or emulsified in a surfactant blend by heating, it precipitates lens-shaped crystals on cooling and produces a pearlescent luster that enhances product appearance.
Key Benefits:
• Gives a distinct pearlescent effect in liquid cleansers
• Thickens and stabilizes detergent formulas
• Provides conditioning in shampoos
• Moisturizes skin, conditions hair and resists static
Applications:
• Shampoos, facial cleansers, body washes and hand soaps
• Also suitable for cream and lotion formulations
