INCI Name: PEG-75 Lanolin
Product Overview: Top-smooth M75 is a polyoxyethylene condensate containing lanolin (average chain length of 75 ethylene oxide units, average molecular weight about 3.970 Da), with about 17% lanolin content. It is a hard, pale yellow wax with a faint fruity note. Ethoxylation makes the lanolin fully water-soluble, giving clear solutions in water and in aqueous ethanol up to 40%. Nonionic, it is compatible with most other solubilizers, including electrolyte solutions up to 10%, and is only slightly affected by oxidizing and reducing agents. Stable over pH 2-10, and unusually, it barely changes the viscosity of aqueous solutions - ideal for water-based or hydroalcoholic cleansers and high-clarity formulas. It also offers emulsifying, solubilizing and emollient properties with a mild cleansing effect, mainly for facial cleansers and aftershave lotions as well as shampoo and detergent formulas.
